To kick off Mother’s Day weekend, SUP Company hosted an awesome morning for the LBPC moms with a stand up paddle session followed by Champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries. The instructors were great, the sun was shining and some dolphins showed up to make the morning even more perfect. We plan to hold more weekend paddle mornings throughout the year, so stay tuned for dates.
That night, we’ll be collecting new and like-new books for Access Books, a charity that provides books to impoverished school libraries in Southern California. If you don’t have time to buy a book, you can even grab one off of your child’s bookshelf and drop it in the box we’ll have clearly marked at GG’s. This is such an easy way to help area kids. To learn more about Access Books, you can watch this brief video.
Speaking of books, need something to read this summer? The Book Club has picked its next six selections. Meetings are the first Wednesday of each month. Check Big Tent each month for the location.

The annual summer BBQ at Bluebird Park is scheduled for Friday, August 10 starting at 6:00 and is going to include ... wait for it ... an In-N-Out truck!
Finally, we’d like to welcome the newest additions to our LBPC family. Congratulations to the families on the birth of these beautiful boys!
Michelle and John Cornell introduce Caleb Francis Cornell, born May 19, weighing 7 pounds, 5 ounces and measuring 20 inches long.
Michelle and Bryan Harper introduce Hayden LeBleu Harper, born April 29, weighting 7 pounds, 8 ounces and measuring 20 inches long.
Jennifer and John Leonti introduce Luke Benjamin Leonti, born April 6, weighing 6 pounds, 10

Don’t forget that we deliver meals to the families of new babies through our Families Helping Families program. If you’re pregnant or have just had a baby, contact Kami Marshall (kamibmarshall@gmail.com) to receive a delicious meal from a local restaurant.
If you’re looking for an easy way to volunteer, let Kami know that you’re interested in delivering a meal. This doesn’t have to be an ongoing commitment; if you pick up and deliver one meal, it would be a huge help. The families are always so appreciative and you get to spend a few minutes with an adorable newborn.
Have a great month!
Are you still looking for the perfect Father’s Day gift? Join us Wednesday, June 13 from 11:00 to 1:00 at the Boys and Girls Club location in the Canyon next to Sawdust (1085 Laguna Canyon Road). We’ll be making a craft for dad, and there will also be a backdrop and some props for taking pictures of the kids. Bring your own camera and any of dad’s things that would make a memorable photo — his favorite pair of shoes, football, book or Scotch glass. Please RSVP so that we know how many supplies and snacks to provide.
Has it been weeks or even months since you went out without the little ones? Don’t miss Parents Night Out this Friday, June 8, from 6:00 to 9:00 at GG’s Cafe Bistro (540 South Coast Highway). The Parents Club will be hosting the bar from 6:00 to 7:30 and providing some tasty Mediterranean apps.
