In Like a Lion Out like a Lamb
March certainly came in like a Lion this year and spoiled our Patriots Day Parade fun. Fortunately, we had tons of other fun activities going on this month and there was no lull in the fun. Between book club, a Mom's Night Out, a Waste Management Tour, a martial art trial class, and of course a St. Patty's day playgroup party there was so much fun to be had this month. A heartfelt thank you to all that organized and participated. You make this club special.
There's more fun to come. Our next BIG event is the Easter Egg Hunt. Save the date: Friday, April 18th from 4- 7 pm. More details will be posted on the bigtent calendar soon. And while we're on the subject of the bigtent calendar - do you know of an event around town that you'd like to inform your fellow LBPC members about or want to share a special class that you and your little have been attending? Please feel free to email me (jenniferleonti@gmail.com) with the event for posting. BETTER YET, if you enjoy not only being in "the know" but keeping others in "the know," LBPC is looking for someone to keep our calendar current. Get involved!

Exciting things are going on at the LBPC and we're so happy you're a part of it.

Book Description: When American journalist Pamela Druckerman has a baby in Paris, she doesn't aspire to become a "French parent." French parenting isn't a known thing, like French fashion or French cheese. Even French parents themselves insist they aren't doing anything special.
Yet, the French children Druckerman knows sleep through the night at two or three months old while those of her American friends take a year or more. French kids eat well-rounded meals that are more likely to include braised leeks than chicken nuggets. And while her American friends spend their visits resolving spats between their kids, her French friends sip coffee while the kids play.

The Fun Times We've Had Over the Last Month:
Waste Management Tour
The 2010 and 2011 playgroups recently toured the Waste Management recycling center in Irvine. After a talk on recycling, the kids and moms put on hard hats and safety vests to visit the yard and watch recycling trucks dump their haul while giant loaders pushed the recycling into piles. The trip ended with a chance to climb in and explore a recycling truck.
Martial Arts Class
This month Cho's Academy invited the 2010 playgroup to join its Lil' Panthers martial arts class. The kids had a great time stretching, punching, kicking, running and jumping with the other students. The moms even joined in for some jumping jacks and push ups. Thank you to Cho's Academy for hosting us!
Mom's Night Out
HOLY COW was this past Mom's Night Out FUN! Big thanks to club member and sponsor
Rebecca Faubion for showing us that we can all be artful. Also thanks goes out to our newest sponsor - Spice Merchants - for providing us with a venue to be artful. This event was long in the making and the time and efforts devoted to it from our fellow members was well worth it - look at what we made:

We need your help!
Our parents club is 100% run by volunteers. It takes a lot of people to pull off our events, manage the calendar, monitor the website and keep everyone happy! Please join us at our monthly meetings to help keep with wonderful community organization thriving.
We VERY MUCH need help with the following:
- 2014 Playgroup Coordinator - If you have a 2014 kiddo and would like to coordinate please contact jenniferleonti@gmail.com. This is a great way to meet other moms and give back to this wonderful network.
- 2013 Playgroup Coordinator - If you have a 2013 kiddo and would like to coordinate please contact jwiteck@hotmail.com. This is a great way to meet other moms and give back to this wonderful network.
- Calendar Coordinator - We are looking to fill the position of calendar coordinator. This person will help keep the club members in "the know" about events going on in our community by posting their findings on our bigtent calendar. Huge thanks to the newly prego mama that has been carrying this torch!
Thank you to those folks who have recently stepped up to continue to make this club go 'round.
