Hi Folks,
Thanks to all that participated in and organized this year's LBPC Annual Easter Egg Hunt!
We played on the slide, ate on the grass, danced on the sidewalk, and (most importantly) hunted on the grass. We used nearly every square inch of Alta Laguna Park and had a wonderful time doing so!
Spring fun continues at LBPC: We have a fun event to help motivate your Spring cleaning. Join us for a Mom's Night Out, Fashion Swap Party on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Pearl St. General Store. Clean out your closets and join us. Details below and on the BigTent calendar.
And, don't miss our Disaster Preparedness workshop this Saturday, April 26th from 10:30 - 11:30 at the Susi Q. There's still spaces available. RSVP on BigTent.
Scroll down to see our many other upcoming events as well as pictures from our recent events and volunteer opportunities.
Exciting things are going on at the LBPC and we're so happy you're a part of it.

Take advantage of the longer days of summer and join the Parent's Club for some family time at Bluebird Park. Family Fridays are a great way to hang out with the awesome club families AND ensure your young ones are worn out and ready for a good night's sleep. We plan to organize one family Friday night each month for May, June, July, August and September. We will shoot for the first Friday of the month unless it conflicts with a holiday weekend.
The first Family Friday will be May 2 from 4:30- until the party ends. This is a non-hosted event, meaning that families should bring their own food, beverages and maybe a picnic blanket as your base. The park and friends will provide all of the entertainment.
Most of the activity will be happening near the tot area or the older kid play structures. Plan to set up camp in one of these areas.
Please RSVP on BigTent so we can get an idea of how many and whom to watch for. We look forward to seeing you to celebrate the end of the week AND the longer days of summer.

Easter Egg Hunt
The kids were no match for the over 1400 eggs that appeared at this year's egg hunt. A big thank you to all those that helped stuff the eggs, wrangled the music, ordered the food, brought the food, brought the ice, brought the beer, set up the event, took down the event and the many other tasks that made this event a success. A bigger thanks to those that attended - it's not an egg hunt without YOU!

Bike Clinic
The Laguna Beach Parents Club held a bicycle riding clinic a Bluebird Park to help children independently ride a two-wheel bike. Officer Nikie Hernandez of the Laguna Beach Police Department talked about bicycle safety while Bill Freeman of Crankbrothers and parents John Cornell, Megan Hilliard and Paula Lopes assisted with helmet checks and helped kids ranging in age from three to seven years old take their first glides and pedals.
Alyssa Sladeck helps Officer Nikie Hernandez demonstrate the proper way a bike helmet should fit during the recent Laguna Beach Parents' Club bicycle riding clinic at Bluebird Park. |
Mitzi Ostrick gets a push from dad, Marc, while Grayson Grzeskowiak waits for help from Megan Hilliard at the recent Laguna Beach Parents' Club bicycle riding clinic at Bluebird Park. |
Jake Brown takes his first glide on his bike, assisted by John Cornell, at the recent Laguna Beach Parents' Club bicycle riding clinic at Bluebird Park. |
Thank you to Michelle Cornell for the write up on this fun event! |
We need your help!
Our parents club is 100% run by volunteers. It takes a lot of people to pull off our events, manage the calendar, monitor the website and keep everyone happy! Please join us at our monthly meetings to help keep with wonderful community organization thriving.
We VERY MUCH need help with the following:
- Sponsorship Coordinator - This is a fun volunteer position that gives you the opportunity to meet local business owners who support our club. Duties include gathering and posting monthly "shout-outs" as well as gathering information from new sponsors, support for sponsorship sponsorship renewal.
- 2013 Playgroup Coordinator - If you have a 2013 kiddo and would like to coordinate please contact crcaligurl@gmail.com. This is a great way to meet other moms and give back to this wonderful network.
- Calendar Coordinator - We are looking to fill the position of calendar coordinator. This person will help keep the club members in "the know" about events going on in our community by posting their findings on our bigtent calendar. Huge thanks to the newly prego mama that has been carrying this torch!
Thank you to those folks who have recently stepped up to continue to make this club go 'round.
Don't Forget:
