The Fun Times We've Had Over the Last Month:
Moms Night Out FASHION SWAP Party!
If you missed it, your loss. It was a blast and supported a great cause.
About 25 Laguna Beach Parents' Club moms collected and donated more than 500 pieces of clothing, shoes and accessories to Women Helping Women (WHW), an Orange County nonprofit that provides comprehensive employment support services for disadvantaged men, women and teens.
"We got together for a Moms' Night Out fashion swap party and the next day donated our 500-plus remaining items to the Women Helping Women organization," said Allison Sladeck, event organizer. "It was a huge success and we hope to make it an annual event."
Clothing donations are used to help WHW clients dress appropriately for job interviews.
The event, which had each member bring 10 items to donate and allowed for attendees to select five items from the racks to take home, was held recently at Pearl Street General Store. The club, which is open to any family with children, hosts several Moms' Nights Out activities, as well as events for dads and the entire family, throughout the year. They also host regular playgroups during the week and on weekends to accommodate working parents.

Father's Day Craft
The Boys and Girls Club did it again - a great event. The kids made mugs for Dad along with personalized wrapping paper and cards signed with adorable hand prints! We are grateful to the Boys and Girls Club for again collaborating with LBPC for this event.

Speaker Series Talk: What every parent must know to protect their kids and assets
On Saturday, June 14th, Laguna Beach Parents Club sponsors, Anderson Law Group, hosted a wonderfully informative talk on Family Estate Planning. Nicole Anderson discussed various legal estate and tax planning tools, guardianships and incapacity planning, and how to create a responsible estate plan that protects your hard earned assets and promote harmony across generations. The event was held in a bungalow at the Pacific Edge Hotel. A delicious brunch was served along with mimosas and coffee for the more tame. A HUGE thank you to Nicole - one of our sponsors, a part of our speaker series, and most importantly a club member! Many thanks - the talk was great.

We need your help!
Our parents club is 100% run by volunteers. It takes a lot of people to pull off our events, manage the calendar, monitor the website and keep everyone happy! Please join us at our monthly meetings to help keep with wonderful community organization thriving.
We VERY MUCH need help with the following:
- Sponsorship Coordinator - This is a fun volunteer position that gives you the opportunity to meet local business owners who support our club. Duties include gathering and posting monthly "shout-outs" as well as gathering information from new sponsors, support for sponsorship sponsorship renewal.
- 2013 Playgroup Coordinator - If you have a 2013 kiddo and would like to coordinate please contact crcaligurl@gmail.com. This is a great way to meet other moms and give back to this wonderful network.
- Calendar Coordinator - We are looking to fill the position of calendar coordinator. This person will help keep the club members in "the know" about events going on in our community by posting their findings on our bigtent calendar. Huge thanks to the newly prego mama that has been carrying this torch!
- Newsletter Coordinator- Looking to flex your writing skills instead of your coloring skills? Here's your opportunity.
- Families Helping Families Coordinator- We offer a free meal prepared by a local restaurant to any LBPC family bringing home a new baby. The family can choose from several menu options. The Club takes care of ordering the food, picking it up and delivering it to the families doorstep. We need someone to coordinator these efforts as our current coordinator is expecting and will need a meal delivery herself:)
Thank you to those folks who have recently stepped up to continue to make this club go 'round.
