As you’ve probably heard, the club is hosting our first ever Gala and Silent Auction at Moulin on Saturday, May 21. When you see the word "Gala" it conjures up images of stuffy ballrooms and people dressed to the nines. By definition, a gala is simply a “social occasion with special entertainments or performances.” And, that’s just what we have in store for you...a lively evening that mixes food, drinks, musical entertainment, friends, and charity. Basically, it's a big party for us. Nothing too fancy or formal.
Now that you’ve gotten over the “Gala" hurdle, perhaps you’re still not sure you want to spend a bunch money for one night. Well, I’m here to reassure you that not only will you have a fabulous time, but you will be helping the club host a new family event in the fall and provide much needed assistance for local at-risk youth. Plus, there’s no pressure to bid or purchase anything in the auction. (But, we’ve lined a wide range of cool items in case you change your mind!)
Still need more convincing? Talk to Kristin Lewis. If my power to persuade hasn’t worked by now, she’ll be the one to win you over.

Moms' Night Out - Roots
It was a great turn out for our April Moms' Night Out at Roots. Moms were treated to a non-toxic polish change, hair touch-ups and mini make overs while sipping wine, mingling and nibbling on tasty spa food from our sponsor Maryann’s Menu. Thank you to Roots for hosting such a wonderful event. If you were unable to attend but are curious about non-toxic products and make-up, stop by the shop located on 384 Forest Ave, Suite 9 for a free skincare/makeup consultation. Laura is a wealth of knowledge and amazing at her craft. Interested in hosting a private event at ROOTS? Earth Day at the Community Garden |
The South Laguna Community Garden was alive and crawling with earth worms, rolly-polly bugs, and our little ones in celebration of Earth Day. Kids ran loose and free down the narrow pathways of the garden. They planted sunflower seeds, swung from the “couch” swing, watered happy plants, made bird feeders, and cheerfully scribbled on Earth Day coloring pages (printable here).
The Garden sits right on Coast Highway. But once you open the gate, you lose the sense of cars whizzing by and gain a sense of tranquilty. The Garden is carefully tended by many locals with great pride. Just ask Carly Sciacca, director of the Children’s Garden, about her days growing up in the garden. She now helps little ones experience the wonders of nature. And we are so grateful for her help in hosting our Earth Day event.
A huge thank you goes out to the members of the South Laguna Community Garden who helped organize and run the Earth Day celebration. We couldn't have done it without you!
PS. For those of you with a green thumb, the South Laguna Community Garden has a few remaining boxes. Also, the Garden is trying to purchase the land and give it back to the city as a designated park. You can help realize their goal by making a small donation (here)!
AND, DON'T FORGET...
