November 2013 Newsletter

Gobble, Gobble

I hope everyone is having a fun time gearing up for Thanksgiving. The weather has certainly started to match the season.

We had an amazing turn out at this year's Halloween Walk. The costumes were adorable and very creative. Also we were able to donate a good amount of needs to Los Angelitos Orphanage.  Thank you for your contribution and participation.

Each year the Laguna Beach Parents Club hosts a holiday tree at the Sawdust Winter Festival. We recently had a fun holiday-craft day making sparkly ornament for the tree. We invite you to come to the Tree Lighting Festival at the Sawdust November 23rd (TODAY) at 5:30 pm. It's a local event that shouldn't be missed!

Please scroll down to find out more about Upcoming Events and other news from LBPC.

At the Laguna Beach Parents Club we are thankful for our members.

Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving!

Moms' Night Out

Thursday, December 12th, 7-10pm

Hi Ladies, Happy Holidays! It is that time of year again to put that special outfit on that you have been wanting to wear or wanting to shop for :). Come join us for a glass of champagne courtesy of the club, meet some really fantastic women, enjoy a well deserved night out and let the night take flight from there! We will meet in the lobby at the Montage by the piano and hope to see all of there.

We also are attaching a very special charity with this event. We are pairing with Foster Care Auxiliary of Orange County to ensure that each of the 400 children in their program have a new pair of pajamas for the holidays. Half of the children are between the ages of 0-6 and the other half are between 7-18. So next time you are at Costco, Walmart, or wherever you shop please pick up a pack of pajamas. If you are not attending mom's night out feel free to drop them off at 964 Gaviota Drive by Thursday Dec. 12th. Thank you in advance for your generosity! Feel free to contact me (Maile O'Hara) if you have any questions, 917-6087480. What a sweet simple way to impact a child for Christmas, thank your for your participation!

This was such an awesome evening last year (over 40 women), come join us it will be memorable!

Adopt-a-Family

Hello Laguna Beach Families!

Every year the Laguna Beach Parents Club "adopts" local families from the Boys & Girls Club for holiday's. It is a chance for us to give back to the community and support Laguna Beach Families who are not as privileged as some of us and who need a little help to bring some holiday cheer to their own children.

Our goal this year is to adopt 12 families. Usually it entails a sponsorship around $100-$150. We will receive a detailed bio of the families in early December, including family size, number of children, clothing size, and gift wish lists.

This is an amazing way to teach our own children about giving, compassion, and gratitude. Gifts can be hand delivered to the families, or anonymously at the Club. For many LBPC families, this has become a cherished tradition of giving. Individuals, businesses, friends, or playgroups can team up to adopt a family.

If this is something you are interested in participating in, please email me, socalwilson@gmail.com

We need your help!

Our parents club is 100% run by volunteers. It takes a lot of people to pull of our events, manage the calendar, monitor the website and keep everyone happy!

We VERY MUCH need help with the following:

  • Newsletter Coordinator - We need a newsletter coordinator ASAP. If you've been itching to flex your writing skills (as opposed to your coloring skills), here's your opportunity.
Thank you to those folks who have recently stepped up to the plate to continue to make this club go 'round.

Don't Forget:

Meals for New Parents
We offer a free meal prepared by a local restaurant to any LBPC family bringing home a new baby. The family can choose from several menu options. The Club takes care of ordering the food, picking it up and delivering it to the families doorstep. Yum Yum!

Check us out on Facebook...

Thank you to the following sponsors who continue to support our club...
